There's always room for dessert!
When it comes to Afghan food you're spoilt for choice when you're in Dandenong. There are Afghan restaurants down almost every street.
I've been to a few of them and have 3 favourites that I find have great food, service and a reasonable price.
Afghan Tasty Food has got to be at the top of my list. It's situated on the main road and can easily be missed because it's exterior signage and shop front is quite simple.
But don't let the shop front fool you. The food is fantastic. The menu consists of all the regular Afghan cuisines, such as manto, bolani and kabuli Palau.
I think I've tried everything on the menu and now find it easier to just order the banquet because it has a bit of everything and only $25 pp.

This is where we head off to for our midnight snacks or just when we've had dinner a little to early and still feel peckish.
Although there are halal certifications visible, not all burgers are halal (may have bacon or chicken is not halal). Best to double check.
But my go to burger has to be the whopper junior. Because I find that the actual whoppers are too big.
Once again, tomatoes are an issue here. They're super chunky. Must just the slicer they use.
But other than that, burgers are defiantly better at Hungry Jack's.

Second time having pizza from this place.
I Love their pizza bases. It's thinner than your usual base, but so good.
The topping are also quite full of flavour, as their tomato sauce containing garlic and heaps of herbs.
The menu also consists of desserts and pasta. I'll be sure to write a new review when I get round to trying the other things on the menu!

This has to be my favourite pizza shop in Dandenong. I'd have to agree with their sign as I think they have "the best pizza in town".
They tick all the boxes when it comes to a pizza shop, lots of flavours/toppings, perfect base, eat in seating, and local delivery.
My two favourite toppings have got to be their paradise house special, which has prawns and a mix of meat on a tomato base and the meat lovers with pineapple.

The shop front of this Indian restaurant is so trendy and inviting, matching the surrounding shops and the newly designed shopping centre.
Today I had lunch with my friend. We ordered a Masala Dosa, lamb pasanda curry, garlic Naan, rice and mango lasi. Everything was really nice.
We had quite an early lunch so the place wasn't busy and we were served quite quickly.
I'll be back with my family to check out the other dishes next time.

I've seen this cafe in the Dandenong shopping centre a few times, noticing the halal sign today I decided to check it out.
I was a little confused seeing ham/bacon all over the menu and a halal sign next to it. So I asked the staff and they confirmed it's all halal and they use beef bacon (don't know if that's what you call it).
They do all day breakfast. So I ordered eggs Florentine and a chai latte. The eggs were quite over done, but the dish itself was alright, but nothing special.
Not sure how I feel about going back. Maybe if I really feel like breakfast at midday and I'm in the shopping centre.

It's always nice to know where all the local kebab shops are in the area. Whether it's for a late night snack or for lunch, it's quick easy and satisfying.
This place is fairly new (only opened about a week ago), I discovered it through this app and decided to check it out. It's currently got a huge advertisement balloon on top and its on the main road so you can't miss it!
The menu consists of the regulars, which include falafel, chicken, lamb and souvlaki kebabs, salads, burgers, parmas, hot drinks and milkshakes.
I ordered a lamb kebab and hubby got the burger meal with vanilla milkshakes. Both our meals came out on cute chopping boards and were pretty good. My only improvement would've been to suggest to slice the tomatoes a little thinner, I know I sound picky, but it's just a pet peave and so many places do it. You take a bite of your food and BAM! It's a giant slice of tomato! But that's just me.
Although its a takeaway shop it's st

I always seem to end up at pancake parlour when I'm after dessert and somewhere to enjoy it where it's not so busy and crowded (other places seem too tricky when you have to take a pram with you).
Favourite drink which I'd recommend is the Swiss blue heaven malt milk shake!! It's so good!!
Favourite pancake has to be the raspberry and rhubarb. Tried it for the first time in winter when they had an offer where the price depends on the temperature outside. Best deal ever! Scored so many desserts throughout winter for less than half the price.
I've been told the chicken is also halal at this restaurant. But double check when you go there.

Pillars of Guidance Cafe is a beautifully designed restaurant located in the South Eastern suburbs of Victoria. Serving an array of multicultural cuisines with a modern twist, that not only look stunning but taste just as good.
I've been to PGCC a fair few times since it's opened and my favourite items have got to be the summer time chicken strips (pretty sure this is what it's called), the gourmet pizzas and ofcourse the desserts and cakes.
During Ramadan along with the existing menu PGCC offered special banquets every weeknight, including Afghani night, Burger night and Steak night, to name a few.
Pillars of guidance is not only a cafe but am Islamic community centre where you can not only have a wonderful meal with the whole family, but pray your salat, and even stay and attend or sign up for a variety of classes, including cooking classes which are held once a month!
The venue itself is huge with plenty of room to bring your whole fam
