A new cafe in the east. I think it is the first time a halal cafe resides in a community centre (cc).
The red velvet hot chocolate here is awesome, gotta try it. I was here twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. I prefer the breakfast menu. The morrocan eggs and butcher's daughter set was delicious. The steak was tasty and rich.
Similarly, the hummus will leave you satisfied and full. My only wonder is why was the sourdough bread toast too hard? It was pretty hard to cut and chew.
Place wasn't too crowded and I love the bright natural lights shining into the cafe. Definitely a nice place to chill.

First time eating at Prata Wala and I decided to try their plain prata with butter chicken. The butter chicken is definitely one of the best I have tasted. Prata is pretty big and crispy just the way I like it.
The naan set comes with a small bowl of rice so do take note. The entire tray cost $11.90, with all the curry side dishes, totally worth it. Beriyani set comes with crispy papadam.
We had the 'teh halia' (ginger tea) and teh tarik. Best combination to eat with the prata and naan.

A new halal eating place in the east! I have to try! Here for lunch on a Sunday and this place is huge. The menu had a large variety of food available, everything looked so good it was hard to choose.
We finally decided to choose different dishes so we could have a taste of everything. My simple breakfast set of bread, scrambled eggs and sausages was surprisingly filling. The fruitty french toast was perfectly sweet.
The midwings we ordered tasted slightly like the marinated chicken from 4 fingers. Finger licking good. We ended the meal with shared strawberry cheesecake ice cream in a jar! So yumssss.
Love this place. Service was prompt too. Will definitely come back for more. Restaurant is in Tampines Hub, walking distance from Tampine mrt. Very convenient. Do drop by!

We were looking for a place that was going to be open on New Year's eve to have a birthday celebration and this place was open yay!
I have always been sceptical of local thai restaurants because nothing beats being in Thailand eating authentic thai food, but this place is an exception.
From the 2 flavoured sweet and sour fish, the beef, the green curry, the fishcakes with sweet chilli sauce, everything tasted as good as dishes in Thailand. Everything was swept clean within minutes!
Don't miss the sticky mango rice but I would recommend you to eat it after the savoury food, it is a perfect end to your meal. The coconut ice cream was so yummy I wish I didn't have to share it haha! #greedy
Service was prompt and efficient. This restaurant is located at East Village but they have another outlets at River Valley.

If you ask me where to go for the best halal buffet in Singapore, it is here at Carousel.
It is one of the first halal buffet and even though many halal buffets came into existence in the past few years, no other places can truly match Carousel. Their variety of food is huge, excellent service, nice ambience and there is a musollah nearby! I was there for their christmas dinner special and the food were outstanding. There were steak, all kinds of seafood, asian dishes, western dishes. The seafood here is sooo fresh, I had only oysters, crab and prawns. I can't eat more unfortunately lol.
The dessert were all nicely decorated and displayed prettily. Too many choices. The christmas special cost slightly more than the typical dinner but to me the price was worth it.
During peak season like fasting month or festive season, you have to book way in advance because they are always fully booked! If you can't eat too much, I recommend the high tea bu

An ex-colleague was asking where was the best (and cheap) to eat chilli crab and so I suggested here! My parents are avid fans of their chicken rice and their seafood dishes.
So the 10 of us gathered here. We ordered 2 types of crab, chilli and salted egg yolk and both were finger licking good. The sotong ball and honey mid wings were meant to be appetizers but they tasted so good we ordered it for the 2nd time.
All seafood dishes are best eaten with their seafood fried rice, which is also tasty when eaten plain. Oh yes, if you ordered fruit drinks (like lychee or longan) the glass is big and tall!
There are 2 parts of the restaurant, air conditioned area inside and open area outside. Please take note that all parking here would require you to do parallel parking lol.
This restaurant is definitely our fav seafood restaurant. Price is reasonable and they have shell out here too. Try it!

I used to think that we can only eat pancakes with maple syrup, honey and butter but Paddington House of Pancakes has changed that!
Almost every dish has pancakes! It can be eaten with savoury or sweet. The pancakes are nice and buttery and delicious even when eaten plain.
The portions are huge so unless you are starving, you might want to share it. I especially love the fries & wedges as it came with mayo and cheese dip. So fattening but also so delicious lol. Price is expensive but I guess once in a while you can indulge. Our bill was $120 for 5 people. Definitely worth it.
City Square Mall can be reached by alighting at Farrer Park Mrt Station (NEL line).

We were going to send someone off at the airport so we thought we might as well have dinner there too.

New branch at Shenton Way, how blessed are the people working in this area. My first time here and the staff are so warm and friendly. This place is empty on weekends just the way I like it. On weekdays (because of the office crowd) its packed with people.
We waited for quite a while for our food when suddenly a staff came to us with mushroom soup. They said it was on the house because our food was taking some time to be ready. How thoughtful!
Portion for breaded fish with spaghetti was hugeeee. The salad was fresh and I love how the aglio olio tasted light and since it wasn't starchy I did not feel too full.
Such a lovely ambience and the whole shenton way looks like a desserted place on a Saturday lol. They are closed on Sundays so do take note. There are also 'Pak Dolah' and 'Fleur Cafe' next to it. Together, these string of cafes are known as 'Halal Street'. Do visit them!

Where else can we get quality halal korean food if not at Seoul Garden! Seoul Garden Hot Pot allows you to order ala carte (as compared to buffet style seoul garden outlet). You will get to taste a lot of typicsl korean dishes. A must order is bibimbap! There are several versions (vegetarian, chicken, seafood etc) for you to order from. You gotta mix the sauce and everything in the bowl.
If you come in a big group you can share the side dishes. The crispy fish and seafood pancake was yummy, just like the ones I had in Korea.
Now conveniently located at Paya Lebar Square, this is a nice place to chill on weekends.
